FAQ

Who can sign up?

Everybody is invited to sign up and create an account! The default role is “Subscriber”. After signing up you will be able to apply for your desired role (Supporter, Cosplayer or Angel). The minimum requirement for cosplayers is that you should have finished at least one Cosplay Project and be able to prove it with a Photoset consisting of more then 3 pictures.

What roles can I apply for?

For now there are three roles (Cosplayer, Supporter and Angel).

1) Supporter is the role for a person who wants to support the project (As a moderator, photographer, patreon etc) but doesn’t create Cosplays/ isn’t a Cosplayer.
2) Cosplayers will be able to submit Cosplay projects and will have a chance to benefit from the CosplayCore.com money pool funding and the help of Angels
3) Angels are experienced Cosplayers and Content Creators who want to give back to the community and share their knowledge and content. Angels will be considered partners of CosplayCore.com who want to help to increase the reach of the project and support with fundraising. Angels directly benefit as Affiliates.

Who can become an Angel and what are the specific requirements to meet?

The main requirement is to be actively involved in the project and to support it in areas of your expertise. As an experienced Cosplayer we would love to see you share original content (Tutorials, Photosets, Videos, Fanart) and your knowledge with our Community. The ideal angel would be acting as a role model for other cosplayers and help the project attract more supporters and gain more awareness. To be considered as an angel you need to be verified.

How do I get verified?

Upload at least three color pictures of yourself holding a handwritten paper sign that includes:

1) Your Cosplaycore.com username and
2) Today’s date, including the year (must match the date of your verification). Please spell out the month: “February 7th 2022” or “Feb 7th 2022”, not “1/7/2022” (US) or “7/1/2022” (non-US).
3) A mention of Cosplaycore.com (to confirm the person holding the sign knows where it is being posted). We will not verify if it does not mention the exact URL.

Make sure each shot of the sign is at a slightly different angle (as opposed to being “straight-on”).

What else do I need to consider to increase chances to get verified?

Please don’t take the picture with a really bad camera. If your verification pictures are so low quality that we can’t read the sign or be reasonably sure it wasn’t faked, we might deny your verification.

Be prepared to be slightly inconvenienced by us. We want to make sure you’re you! If we ask you to resubmit pictures, you are NOT being singled out. We do this all the time. Just read these directions carefully, and hang in there. We’ll get you verified!

Color Pictures / No filters / No editing.

The photos should be high resolution and unedited so that they are more likely to pass our photoshop detection tests.

What does verification get me?

Verifying gives us all a little peace of mind. First of all the staff and community know you’re a real person and we know you consent to being posted. Once verified, you get the Cosplayer or Angel role on our Discord Server and therefore access to the internal cosplayer and team channels. Furthermore, you will be able to participate in all upcoming community events for our cosplayers.

How long does verification take?

We usually have our Cosplayers verified within a few hours, but sometimes it can take longer. If you think we missed yours, don’t hesitate to message the team @Discord.

What are the rules for uploading pictures?

  • You acknowledge that Cosplaycore.com may, at its sole discretion, publish or otherwise use any photograph submitted by you for future marketing purposes and in any publication or Web site without notice or permission.
